About

I graduated in 2013, and have since been working as a General Manager for McDonald’s.  This decision allowed me to secure myself financially, paying off most of my student loans while growing my skills as a leader.  I am eager to see what opportunities come next.

District XI Champs! On to Nationals!NSAC Group 3

District XI Champs!

The most exciting experience during my school career was the National Student Advertising Competition.  We were given a client, Glidden Paint, and had a little over two months to develop a campaign that we presented at Districts (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana).

The very limited time we had to complete this project was a challenge.  Working with 13 other group members all learning the process at the same time was an interesting, but worthwhile experience.  All of our hard work paid off when our campaign won first place in our region.  I served as Media/Strategic Director for this campaign, and had to figure out how to develop a media plan with minimal resources.  In the media planning class project I had access to industry data (See Amp Media Plan). For that project it wasn’t difficult to search through the given data, conduct supplemental research, and develop a media plan.  My NSAC experience of having little information available and having to search for every detail that I wanted to include in the media and strategic plan was extremely valuable to me as it allowed me to stretch my thinking and resourcefulness.  I found different ways of getting the details including getting information from Scripps Networks (HGTV, DIY channels), calculating impressions by hand, and even contacting the CMO of Walmart for approved ads!  Our campaign really stood out from the competition, partly because both our plan and resources needed were accurate and realistic for the client.
